When I first started to venture into the wonderful business of Multi Level Marketing (MLM), I realised that the team or rather the team leaders who were coaching me taught me some methods of approaching prospects. Initially I followed as they coached us, but later did I realise that what they were teaching us is a very very old Multi Level Marketing approach technique which does not really work in this 21st century anymore.
This may sound very familiar to you. First they will ask you to do a prospect list of 3 categories, potential, might be interested and may not be interested at all. They ask you to list at least 200 people. Initially they ask you to go after your close ones, including family members, close friends, neighbours, friends of friends and finally the cold market. When it came to the cold market, they ask you to distribute flyers door to door in order to get probably a 1% response and another 1% from that who will really be a potential prospect.
Things have changed now, this techniques just don’t work any more and instead of trying other ways, we most probably would have given up MLM and start looking for a fulltime job again. Our motivation no longer is at it’s peak.
But now there is another method called the Magnetic Sponsoring where people come looking for you instead of you going out there hunting for people. We be the hunted instead of being the hunter. This is where I would like to teach you today on how to leverage on. First of all, we all know that people are becoming very internet savvy and that most of the information that they look for are through the search engines.
With that, what we need is a Network Marketing blog to talk about your product and the compensation plan on how the system can help them generate the income. This blog must be fully search engine optimised in terms of the keywords, tags, permalink, backlinks and many more which I personally train my leaders to do. It does not stop there. Next is to involve very closely to social medias such as Facebook, Twitter, and bookmarking websites that will help send targetted traffic to your blog. This blog must be equiped with a “call for action” feature either in the form of a newsletter signup or a mailing list.
You may also want to study the Pay Per Click campaigns where with a few cents, you can get perfectly targetted prospects based on the keywords that they search on the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and so on. Commenting on other blogs that are related to network marketing is also very important, because this creates backlinks and the search engines love them, generally bringing you higher up the rank. Use Alexa.com to monitor your worldwide raking and Google Analytics to analyse on the daily visitors that you receive.
Once you start receiving the contacts of the readers who is reading your blogs, eventually you’ll have to engage in email marketing to keep your followers constantly update and motivated with latest prospecting techniques. Eventually when they are really interested to join your business, you can prospect them over the phone and close the deal easily. Make sure you are prepared and practise before approaching the prospects, give them links to videos or articles that will help them make their decision.
